Highway Poppies

Highway Poppies
6" x  6"
Acrylic Paint on Ampersand Gessobord
~Sold~

Highway Poppies is #13 of the 30 Paintings in 30 Days with Leslie Saeta.  This painting was finished the day before the "big fall".  I was getting behind as it was, but this has really put a damper on things.  I slipped in the hallway and fell.  Before I actually hit the floor, my face hit the wall.  This has been a set back in my 30 paintings in 30 days~   I will have to double up this weekend and, hopefully, get back on track.  I am sure the face will get back to normal...just some swelling and discoloration...and a big freakin headache!   But, back to the poppies.  My first year in North Carolina I was amazed at the beautiful poppies growing along the highways. The spring in North Carolina is fabulous--poppies, day lilies, magnolias, camelias, gardenias, crepe myrtle, the list of flowers is endless...

Highway Poppies was painted using professional artist grade acrylic paint on a museum quality Ampersand Gessobord.  This painting can be slipped into a frame or placed on a small easel for display.

Well, off to try and get some sleep.....finding a not so sore spot of the head to lay on the pillow is tough~

Thanks for stopping by~

  1. I know how that is Torrie. Of course, with me it was the back of my head that hit the wall first. You know how, in the cartoons, they see stars? Yepper, you really do see stars. It took me five minutes before I could move and get up. I hope you're doing better by the time you read this.

And I love your Highway of Poppies. Lots of color. Just the way I like it. :)

  2. Beautiful!! I love this painting and all the bright cheery colours, especially during these dull days of winter.
