2014 Calendar~ Just Pears

Calendar Cover

The Twelve Months

This is my first Calendar! I love painting pears and thought my first calendar should be only pears. The calendar showcases my favorite pear paintings in the past few years.

The wall calendar measures 8.5" x 11" cm closed and 11" x 17" open. Each month has one of my paintings printed on heavy weight glossy paper.

I only sell original paintings in my store~ here is a way to have prints of my favorite pear paintings to frame.

There is  a very limited supply and can be purchased only in my Etsy.com store.  $23 with free shipping.  The calendar is only available within the United States.

Pear Study with Lemon

Pear Study with Lemon
5" x 7"
Acrylic Paint on Ampersand Aquabord
Collection of the Artist

This is the study I did while working on a larger Pear commissioned painting.

Pear Study with Lemon was painted using professional artist grade acrylic paint on a museum quality gallery Ampersand Aquabord. Painting can be placed in a small frame and also be placed on a small easel for display.

I have started working on the larger canvas as I had planned....going bigger with my painting-- it is sketched out, but no paint on the canvas yet. Hopefully, I will begin working on it soon.  It is going to be a West Texas landscape.

I took an Ink class this past week, it was quite fascinating. You just might see some small abstract ink studies in the near future~

So long September ~

The Paintings of September

Thirty paintings in thirty days in September, well more like about 14!  ~30 Paintings in 30 Days with Leslie Saeta.

I love participating in the 30-day challenges, it makes me crazy that I can't keep up, maybe one day when I don't have a "real job" I will have time to do what I love!  PAINT!

Now for the really big news, really big....  I have mainly painted 6" x  6" paintings with a few large pieces thrown in here and there.  Now its time for a change!  I have stocked up on large canvas 16" x 20" up to 30" x 40", so now the fun really begins~  These large paintings will be offered for sale at Houzz.com, as soon as they are created!  I will post pictures as soon as they are completed and maybe even some progress photos. Wish me luck on my "Big" adventure~    Don't worry, there will still be small affordable paintings available in my online stores. I will paint them in between being inspired to paint big~

Yes, it has been a while since I checked in, but I have been busy.  I took a break from the 30 paintings in 30 Days to complete two commissioned pear paintings.  I accept commissions when time allows and I rarely refuse the opportunity to paint pears~

Green Pears 2013 and Pears and Grapes II were painted using professional artist grade acrylic paint on a museum quality gallery wrapped canvas with painted sides to allow for hanging without a frame.

Now, back to the 30 in 30~  I will finish the last day with one of my favorite pear paintings~  It will be posted tomorrow and then I will post a compilation of the paintings I was able to complete during the month.  Now off to bigger and better~

Check back again tomorrow for the last of the pear paintings for the month~

Better late than never!  I am going to get caught up!  It is tough finding time to paint every day and work full time.  I couldn't do it without Kevin cleaning house and cooking~
I must admit I did spend time quality time with my loved ones this weekend instead of painting.  There was shopping, eating out, and martinis so much fun~

Now back to painting~

Day 5~  Thirty paintings in thirty days in September  ~30 Paintings in 30 Days with Leslie Saeta.

Continuing with the Sunflowers.  I was pressed for time to stay caught up and still work on the larger still life sunflower painting.  One of my sunflowers took a dive and had to be separated from the others.  When I put it off to the side in a small bottle, I noticed a cute shadow.  I thought this would look good on canvas and painting was born.

Sunflower with Shadow was painted using professional artist grade acrylic paint on a museum quality gallery wrapped canvas with painted sides to allow for hanging without a frame. Painting can also be placed on a small easel for display.

Tonight, I am having dinner with friends, so I might get a day behind, but I will catch up on Friday night!

Day 4~  Thirty paintings in thirty days in September  ~30 Paintings in 30 Days with Leslie Saeta.

Continuing with the Sunflowers.  I am working at painting more loosely. This went a bit crazy,  but I love how the wild brush strokes on the dark canvas turned out.  I had purchased several small black canvas and I think this was a really great start to the sunflower painting.

Sunflowers II was painted using professional artist grade acrylic paint on a museum quality gallery wrapped canvas with painted sides to allow for hanging without a frame. Painting can also be placed on a small easel for display.

The next sunflower painting is larger and is a complete arrangement in a vase.  I don't think it will be finished by Day 5, but we will see!

Where have I been!  I am still working on commissions and sneaking in a few fun paintings on the side.   I am having so much trouble with that time management thing......The weather is too nice to stay inside, but there is so much that needs to be done~  the house is a mess, the dogs need a bath, and I bought new hydrangeas that need to be planted....well, tomorrow is another day!

Pears!

Pears!

Today we were asked to make a collage of some of our paintings currently available for purchase.  I selected my pear paintings for a very special reason.  It all started with pears.  About ten years ago, I decided to follow my dream of being a painter.  I started painting pears.  Pears in all shapes and colors~ loose and impressionistic, sometimes more realistic, but always colorful!  Whenever I am away from painting for any length of time or lose my inspiration to paint, I paint a pear.  It sparks my energy and gets me back into the artistic groove.  For this reason, there will always be pears.  Short fat ones, tall skinny ones, but always colorful!  ~ Interestingly, I don't eat pears...I think they taste bad~  HA!

These paintings are all available for purchase and can be found at my Website gallery or my Etsy.com store.

Tomorrow is another painting day~  I will be painting grapes, lemons, limes.....and maybe a pear!

Thanks for stopping by~
