Faye's Pears

Faye's Pears
18" x  24"
Acrylic Paint on Gallery Wrapped Canvas
Commissioned Work

I don't often accept commissions, but when I was asked to do a large pear I couldn't say no.  I am so happy with the way this one turned out.  Kevin is now saying we need a really large pear painting over the fireplace......

Faye's Pears is drying now and will soon be on its way to Tennessee.

Faye's Pears was painted using professional artist grade acrylic paint on a museum quality gallery wrapped canvas with painted sides to allow for hanging without a frame.  Painting was finished with a light coat of varnish.

Now back to painting!

Golden Pear with Red Grapes

After painting the detail in the wine glass painting, I was in the mood to loosen things up a bit.  It was fun to swirl the paint and play with the background.

Golden Pear with Red Grapes was painted using professional artist grade acrylic paint on a museum quality gallery wrapped canvas with painted sides to allow for hanging without a frame.

This painting has sold.

Don't you hate it when that happens.....

Southwest Pear
18" x 24"
Acrylic on Gallery Wrapped Canvas

When getting ready to varnish this painting, I noticed a flaw in the canvas. Usually, I notice things like this before I finish the painting~ I have pulled the painting from the stores, so sad, I really loved this one.

Well, back to painting. I am finishing up a new poppy landscape commission and then working on a new Emu painting~

Elegant Pear ~ New Pear Painting ~

Elegant Pear
6" x 6"
Acrylic on Gallery Wrapped Canvas
~Sold~

I named this Elegant Pear because of the deep rich tones of gold with dark green gray background, muted but rich~

Elegant Pear was painted using professional artist grade acrylic paint on a gallery wrapped museum quality canvas with painted sides to allow for hanging without a frame. Painting was finished with a light coat of varnish.

Up Next~

I am almost finished with a larger cupcake painting. This one features two cupcakes with pink frosting. This should be finished in the next day or two~

I have started a large painting for Miranda. It is a Lily Pond painting, but it will be done in shades of brown, blue, and turquoise. Yes, this is a stretch, I am working with my imagination ~ and I don't have much of an imagination. I will post pictures ~

The leaves are starting to change color and the weather is turning cooler.....may be it is time for a few fall landscapes.

The Gold Pear III, new pear painting~

The Gold Pear III
5" x 7"
Oil on Canvas Panel
~Sold~

This is my first pear painting in my new studio. I am not used to having so much room and the sunlight is wonderful. We will have to make some changes with the lighting in the room to paint in the evening. I want to add the recessed lighting that is in the rest of the house and then add track lighting to spotlight my work areas. That will be fun. This painting is available for purchase by using the Paypal button above or from my Etsy.com store or my Online Gallery with EBSQ.com

I am also working on commissioned paintings. The Lemons and Red Bowl should be finished by tomorrow. I have also started a still life featuring the silver teapot I picked up at Goodwill last year.

Well, it is getting late, I have to get up early and paint!

Thanks for stopping by,

New Series of Pear Paintings ~

Golden Pear with Gold

I experimented with different colors of underpainting. Three canvas were underpainted, one with red, one with gold, and the last one with black. The same color palette was used to complete the painting with the only difference being the color of the canvas. In the end, the shade of the underpainting came forth deeper after the varnish was applied.

It is nice to get back into the studio and paint again. I am still finding my way around the new studio and emptying boxes. I am very excited about getting settled into the new space.

Miranda and Audrey are doing well, which makes it easier juggling the real job, painting, and trips to Asheville. I can't wait for them to get to go home and get settled as a family.

Small Gold Pear

I have been playing catch up, I have had the place all to myself and what do I do~~~ waste time enjoying the peace and quiet and sleeping. The dogs have enjoyed my laziness, relaxing with them and doing nothing.....but back to the real world! There is house cleaning, laundry, and last but not least, painting to do. I am so behind on emails and updates!

I have finished my Afternoon Tea painting and I am very happy with the results! I was on a roll and decided to followup with another gold pear painting. I have almost finished a new ballerina painting. I have a feeling that one will disappear when the girls get home!

Afternoon Tea and Small Gold Pear are both currently available for purchase in my EBSQart Gallery and my Etsy.com store.

I will be finishing up the ballerina painting and working on a large commissioned poppy painting this evening.

Thanks so much for stopping by, please forgive my recent laziness with painting and updates, hopefully that is out of my system for a while~~ I have things to do!
