Pear Commissions Finished~

The Little Red Pear
4" x 6"
Acrylic on Gallery Wrapped Canvas

The Little Olive Pear
4" x 6"
Acrylic on Gallery Wrapped Canvas

The Yellow Pear II Redux Again
4" x 6"
Acrylic on Gallery Wrapped Canvas

I am working on several commissioned paintings getting ready for the Holidays. A collector requested several of my previous paintings to be recreated in the 4" x 6" size. I love painting pears and this was a fun commission.

I am currently working on a cow commission. I don't paint many cows and this collector requested a black and while cow. I have painted two and will be making the final touches on the second cow tomorrow and will post pictures soon.

Next up~

I am working on a Lily pond painting, a landscape, a portrait, and more pear paintings. So much to do, so little time. Hopefully, I can make time to paint a little something new for the Etsy.com store.

Thanks for stopping by~

Studio Update~I will be showing my work in Charlotte!

WSOC-TV Charlotte, North Carolina

This is the hallway at WSOC-TV studios in downtown Charlotte. The television station showcases a different artist's work each month of the year. I am very honored and thrilled to fill these walls with my paintings during the month of May 2011.

So much wall space! I normally paint in a smaller format for the Internet stores, now I will be focusing on larger paintings to hang at the television studio. I will be hanging a variety of paintings from landscapes, still life, and portraits. I will post pictures of the paintings as I finish them so you can see then paintings before I take them to the television studio. I am going to try to have approximately 30 to show, wish me luck....I will be painting like crazy!

I will continue to add paintings to my stores online on a regular basis, but probably not as frequently. The small pear series (The Pear Chronicles) will continue. There will also be smaller versions of the paintings that will be included in the May show.

I have closed my eBay store for the time being and closed my shop at Design Style Guide. I am scaling back the online activity a bit, it seems I spend more time updating stores than painting. New paintings can still be purchased from my Etsy.com store, my website, blog, and ebsqart.com.

For now, I am working feverishly to finish six commissions. The holidays are always busy and this year is not an exception. I have to get the paintings for the Heart Gala at the first of the year started soon or they will not be finished in time. So much to do, so little time~ I love it!

Thanks for stopping by, more paintings coming soon!

The Pear Chronicles 007 and More!

The Pear Chronicles 007

Continuing with my little pear series, this is The Pear Chronicles 007, a single red pear with a deep blue loosely painted background.

Now a short explanation of where the heck I have been and what happened this past week:

I am a huge fan of EBSQart.com and that is where I maintain a gallery, but more than that, they have really cool templates and image hosting that I use to maintain all the blogs and websites. The stat counters at the site help me keep up with all that I have floating out in the Internet. Well, it was time for a site upgrade which is always tricky. That, on top of the fact I do not accept change well and have no patience, has made for a very long week. It's not the change thing that gets me as much as the learning curve that comes with a site upgrade--learning how to do things a different way.....(in a nutshell, I am getting old and set in my ways). HA! EBSQart is still working on problems. I can't upload new paintings to the site as of yet, but tomorrow is another day. I will do the best I can with what is working so far.

Now, what you might have missed~

The Pear Chronicles 006
4" x 6"

Acrylic on Gallery Wrapped Canvas

~Sold~

This pear painting in the Chronicles Series sold in the downtime. I am sorry it did not make the blog before it sold. For those of you who want to get a sneak peek before paintings make it to the blog and stores, the paintings are first posted on my Facebook Fan Page. The first place I list my paintings for sale is my Etsy.com store. The Etsy site is just convenient and easy to use, so I post there first, then EBSQart, then my website and on from there.

The following paintings were donated:

The Ballerina IV
16" x 20"
Acrylic on Gallery Wrapped Canvas

The Pear Chronicles 005
4"x 6"

Acrylic on Gallery Wrapped Canvas

Annie Salness, an Artist friend who I met working with the Different Strokes from Different Folks painting challenge blog, recently suffered a stroke and is recovering at home with her family. There will be a fund raiser the details can be found by clicking here and going to the event announcement on Facebook. I will be shipping these paintings Tuesday morning.

Well, that about does it for now. I will be posting my painting that I won from Angela Sullivan. I framed it this week and it is now on the end table in my living room.

Until tomorrow,

Have you ever had one of those days where you would have gotten more accomplished staying in bed that what was done today... well it has been one of those days. For those of you that follow my work on EBSQart.com, the site is currently undergoing an upgrade and it is hit or miss if you can view the galleries there. Give it just a bit more time and the site should be fabulous.

I am continuing with the small pear series, it is too much fun to stop now. I lingered in the pears at the local grocery store until I looked like a stalker (of pears). There were so many different varieties. This is really going to be fun.

Well, I had better get busy, there is still much to do before I call it a day~

I won!

Cherry Drift
5" x 7"
by
Angela Sullivan

I am thrilled beyond words~

Angela Sullivan, a fabulous artist, chooses someone from her list of followers once a month to win one of her paintings. This month I was selected to receive one of her beautiful paintings. I could pick from any of her small paintings on her blog. This was impossible. I chose four! I told her to make the final selection of what she like best from the four I had selected. She will be sending me Cherry Drift. I am so happy! I can't wait. I am going to frame it and put it in my office/studio to enjoy everyday.

Thank you so much Angela, I will enjoy your painting for years to come~

Visit Angela's blog. You will love her work!

Where did the time go~

Life is what happens when you are busy making other plans~
I disappeared for a while. Things have been so busy between family and work and getting everyone back to their respective schools--don't forget to add in car trouble and general scheduling conflicts.
Now that everyone is settled where they need to be, it is time to get back to work. I have missed painting. Here is a collection of what has happened since we visited last.
Pear for Kevin
4" x 5" x 1.5"
Acrylic on Gallery Wrapped Canvas
My dear sweet Kevin has waited patiently and reminded me often about how much he wanted me to paint a pear with a bite out of it--- much like the one on the backside of his girlfriend "iPhone". Well, I finally took the time to paint what he wanted. I don't think much of it, but he was really pleased.

Audrey Grace

Time flies when you are having fun! It has been almost a year since Miss Audrey arrived. She came to spend Grandparent's Day with me and Kevin. She also had a checkup scheduled at Levine Children's Hospital so we spent several days together before she had to go home. We had so much fun. We picked out her Halloween costume, her dress for Thanksgiving, and helped her mom make plans for the upcoming birthday party. Being a grandma is fabulous!

Lemons in Red Bowl IV

I have recently participated in Art Shows at EBSQart.com. I was thrilled and honored to have my Lemons and Red Bowl IV chosen as Member's Choice of the "Still Life with Lemon" show.

Remember when I was working feverishly to finish my submissions for the "Ripped Off Show" My painting that I ripped from Sherry Key was chosen Member's Mention. My painting that I ripped from Amanda Makepeace was selected as Patron's Choice by the non-members of the website. I love participating in the shows at EBSQart.com, they are challenging and it is so rewarding to be recognized for your work.

Sherry's Rain

Orchid for Amanda

Well, that about brings us up to date~ painting tonight with a new small pear painting to be listed tomorrow, something in fall colors.

I will be finishing up the rooster and maybe I will paint a baby chick with an egg to go with it. I have the idea in my head for a ladybug painting.....I might try to get that on canvas by the end of the week. Of course, there will be more pears....and maybe a cupcake!

Thanks for stopping by~

This has been a very busy week~ Not much painting was done. Hopefully, the children are all settled, everyone is getting into a routine. We still have to buy a bed and a sofa for Taylor's new apartment. But, there is always time for shopping~

Since I have not painted, my head is filling up with paintings that need to be on canvas before I forget them. New ballerina paintings, lily pond paintings, and a pineapple painting are on the list of things to do.

I did catch a painting sale at Michaels, found a new color I absolutely love! This color will definitely be in the new pineapple painting.

Well, I am off to get some paintings started.
