Day Four of the 30 in 30! Avocado with Bell Pepper II

Avocado with Bell Pepper II
5" x  7"
Acrylic Paint on Canvas Panel
~Sold~

Rolling right along, it has not gotten complicated yet....it is a holiday weekend with plenty of time to paint!  It will soon get tricky when I juggle home, work, and painting!  I will have to do a lot of planning to have everything stay on track~

You can see I have been revisiting old compositions, it is always best to start with the familiar when you have been away from painting for while.  Today is a throwback from years ago. I love the bright reds and subtle greens, this is always fun to paint

Avocado with Bell Pepper II was painted using professional artist grade acrylic paint on a museum quality canvas panel with painted sides to allow for display without a frame.  This painting will easily slide into a frame or can be placed on a small display easel.

This painting has sold.  You can see paintings available for purchase at my Etsy.com store.

Day Three of the 30 Paintings in 30 Days in September with Leslie Saeta. I am having so much fun! I got a late start on painting so I painted something familiar~  I love avocados and there is generally one laying around waiting to be painted or eaten!

Avocado IV was painted using professional artist grade acrylic paint on a museum quality Ampersand Gessobord. Painting can be placed in a small frame and also be placed on a small easel for display.

This painting has sold.

Now I need to go figure out what to paint for Day Four~  I don't want to get behind!  Check back again tomorrow to see what's next~

I have been battling allergies for weeks!  I have tried everything and Claritin seems to be working the best.  So glad when this is over.  Not feeling well zaps your creative energy.  I am still working on the rooster painting, I am painting what strikes the creative urge until I feel better.

Avocado ~ Claybord or Gallery Wrapped Canvas?

Avocado II
6" x  6"
Acrylic Paint on Gallery Wrapped Canvas
~Sold~

I am playing with supports. I am really fond of the smooth surface of the gessobord and claybord. Many of my customers prefer the gallery wrapped canvas to allow for hanging without a frame. I have done this painting on bord, now this is on canvas. See Avocado~

This painting has sold.

This version of the avocado was painted on Ampersand Claybord~

I am going to continue to play with different supports, I think I might try the mounted bords and see if I can have the best of both worlds!

Now, I have to go make Banana muffins~

The Avocado ~~ New painting today!

The Avocado
6" x 8" Oil on Canvas Panel

I was able between fog and rain to get a good picture of my newest painting The Avocado. The Avocado is available for purchase directly from the artist at my EBSQart.com gallery or my Etsy.com store.

It has been nice to get back to painting after the Christmas holiday. I have a new pear painting almost complete and I will be finishing up two flamingo paintings as requested. I will be painting a smaller version of "Big Bird" and finishing up the portrait for the "Different Strokes from Different Folks" portrait challenge. It is so nice to be busy painting!

Check back tomorrow to see the finished gold pear painting!

Art of the Day!

Sunday Pears
6" x 8"
Oil on Canvas Panel
~Sold~

How exciting! My Sunday Pears was selected as "Art of the Day" at EBSQart.com It is such an honor for one of my paintings to be on the front page. Sunday Pears has found a new home in Massachusetts.

We had a wonderful Christmas! My collectors were very good to me and my family, now I have to get busy replacing the paintings in my online stores. I have finished a new avocado painting that will be listed today~~ as soon as the weather clears and I can get a good digital photo. I am almost finished with a new gold pear painting that is very muted and coming along nicely. Check back later today to see if the weather cooperated and the avocado painting can make it to the blog.

I am still working on the pastel portrait for the "Different Strokes from Different Folks " portrait challenge. I am very excited about the opportunity to participate. I do not paint many portraits, so this is a stretch for me. I love the reference photo Karin Jurick sent to me. I can't wait to find out who the artist is and check out her portfolio, she seems very interesting! Miranda told me I was "doing really great with the use of the negative space" Huh? It is times like these when the difference between a college-educated artist (Miranda) and a self-taught, checked-out-every-art-book in the library artist (me) starts to show.

Well, back to the studio!
