Porch

Porch
5" x  7"
Acrylic Paint on Ampersand Textured Claybord
~Sold~

This is my entry in the DailyPaintworks Cropping Challenge. I focused on the Victorian porch with the wicker chair and hanging baskets. I enjoyed this porch painting and will have to do more.

After working so hard on the painting, I asked Kevin what to name it, (I should have known better). He mumbled something about Eddie Vedder and Pearl Jam and played some awful song.......so, this painting will be called "Porch" after the Pearl Jam song, for Kevin.

This painting is currently available for purchase using the PayPalButton above for $40.00, plus $8.00 United States Priority shipping. You can also purchase from my Website gallery or my Etsy.com store.

I have been working on a portrait of my granddaughter ~ might better get that finished before she gets any older.  I have a commission for a new tornado painting, and I still need to get busy on my new teacup painting.

I am thinking of painting my flamingos for the new Challenge at DailyPaintworks.com.  There is so much to do and so little time!

Bluebonnet Road

Bluebonnet Road
6" x  6"
Acrylic Paint on Ampersand Claybord
~Sold~

You can always tell when I get a bit homesick...I paint my memories of Texas.  I don't often paint landscapes and I started off disappointed with this one.  After encouragement from Kevin and a bit of reworking, it is now my favorite.

This painting was selected as Facebook "Pick of the Day" by DailyPaintworks.com on Facebook.

This painting has sold.

I am in the middle of finishing my porch painting for the DailyPaintworks challenge.  After that...maybe I will finally finish my Rooster painting from last year or the portrait of Miss Audrey.

You can see the difference in the two surfaces.  I can create a smoother more detailed painting using the claybord and gessobord surfaces.  I am currently working with the textured gessobord and it gives me a bit of both worlds....the texture you get to grab paint yet still a fairly smooth surface for detail.

Well, so much for my support experiment.  I will be posting my new landscape tomorrow.  It is on the smooth claybord surface.

Avocado ~ Claybord or Gallery Wrapped Canvas?

Avocado II
6" x  6"
Acrylic Paint on Gallery Wrapped Canvas

I am playing with supports. I am really fond of the smooth surface of the gessobord and claybord. Many of my customers prefer the gallery wrapped canvas to allow for hanging without a frame. I have done this painting on bord, now this is on canvas. See Avocado~

This painting has sold.

This version of the avocado was painted on Ampersand Claybord~

Getting back to Work!

I have been away just a short while, but it seems like forever! Preparations for Wedding #1 ~ the shower and house full of family took a while. We had a wonderful time...just weeks to go before the wedding. Then a bit of down time before Wedding #2 in September. Here are a few things that happened while I was playing Mother of the Bride~

Dale loved his painting and it is hanging in his office in Kansas. I love creating special paintings for customers....I get crazy trying to get everything perfect, but the pictures the client sends me of the painting in its new home is fabulous~

Red Cherries has moved away to its new home in New York~

Flow Blue and Pomegranate, one of my favorite paintings, found a home with a Flow Blue collector in Michigan.

Prints of the following pear paintings sold in my FineArtAmerica.com store to a collector in Utah~

The Pear Chronicles 02

The Pear Chronicles 03

The Pear Chronicles 05

The Pear Chronicles 07

Getting back to the studio~ I have so many paintings floating around in my head that need to be on canvas before I forget them.

DailyPaintworks.com new challenge sounds like fun and I have just the perfect model for the painting~ my dog Rudy. Watch for that painting coming soon!

Now time to get to work!
