The weekend is almost here! I love weekends--lots of painting to do. I do have to go to Charlotte to pick up canvas on Saturday. I have a commission that requires a special canvas.

I will be starting a landscape this weekend. It will be posted by Monday if I like it.

I am in the mood to paint something different.....a departure from what I usually do, I just haven't decided what it is yet. Among the possibilities...portraits, horses....cows....you can tell I am getting homesick for Texas when I start painting western art.

I have finally made it back to the Studio to paint, so I started with something small. The website is up and running, eventhough Courtney does not like it. Courtney was home this weekend from Chapel Hill. She came home to pick up birthday presents and eat cake. She is turning 20---I am getting old!

Currently working with IPower.com to fix problems with their website hosting upgrade in order to get my website correctly published. I have been working on this all week. I miss painting! Hopefully, I will still know how to paint by the time I get through with IPower.

The links on the new website work and it is currently online. Take a look, get a laugh, hopefully things will be repaired soon.

I plan on staying in the studio and off the computer as soon as the upgrade is complete.

I am so excited and honored to have been selected as "Art of the Day" at EBSQart.com. This was part of the series of Lemon paintings I did around Christmas. They have been such a big hit, I will be painting more in the near future.

I have two new paintings finished and ready to put online, but the weather has not been good enough to get good quality pictures. I take pictures of my paintings outside in natural light. Hopefully, I will be able to do that tomorrow. The snow has stopped, but it will be 20-30 degrees and I don't know if my camera will be happy with that. One painting is a new version of Green Apple Martini---16" x 20", and a new 6" x 6" Pear painting (this time a golden yellow pear and red wine grapes.

Well, I had better get busy. So much to do.

This is the newest painting using my favorite smaller canvas. I just purchased a case of 6" x 6" gallery wrapped canvas. These are adorable and I am having fun painting fruit on them. I am thinking of branching out this weekend and painting small landscapes. I spent last weekend at the art supply store and I have tons of new canvas, paint, and ideas.

I have been requested...begged....(bribed)...A new series of Martinis will begin this weekend. Check back again soon for the new paintings. There will be definitely 16" x 20" size.

I am still painting lemons. Lemons and Red Bowl is continuing to paint my bag of lemons with my new bowls I received for Christmas. Lemons and Blue Bowl has already found a home in Virgina. I am currently working on my Flow Blue teapot with lemons. It should be completed by the end of the week.

I am finishing up Christmas portraits and then I will be working on larger paintings because I am currently out of 8 x 10 canvas. I will have to make a trip to Cheap Joe's in Charlotte soon.

I am exhausted!! Courtney is home and there is something going on all the time. I am having trouble finding time to paint. There is so much laundry! The cooking and the cleaning that I can usually avoid is definitely here for the holidays! Miranda has been taking over my art room....she gets into my stuff!!! Sure, she was in the Fine Arts Program at UNC....but it is MY STUDIO---well now, that's off my chest, I feel better now.

This is my newest painting and I am quite proud of it. I had a collector in Finland ask me to paint more lemons.....so I did! I bought a big bag of lemons and got busy. Ideas of what to paint for me is the hardest thing. Thanks Sari for the suggestion....I hope you enjoy the series of lemon paintings to come.

"The Pears" will be listed for auction on eBay today. This painting was done using the same muted gray-green tones in the background as was used for the Flow Blue paintings. I bought an new Flow Blue pitcher today. I will be using it another Flow Blue painting, hopefully starting it tonight. I will be doing a larger painting using these Flow Blue pieces in group together. Probably starting it by the end of the week.

Well, off to the post office. I am sending the portrait swap painting to Austria today. I hope Nic and Murphy like their new painting.
