Tea with Lilies

Tea with Lilies
5" x  7"
Acrylic Paint on Ampersand Claybord
~Sold~

This is painting #5 in the 30 Paintings in 30 Days with Leslie Saeta.  I was afraid to start this painting, another floral failure would have rocked my confidence enough to slow down my 30 in 30.  I am so happy with the way this one turned out.  The vase was a Christmas present from Taylor last year and the teacup belongs to my sister Cindy.  Maybe having things I love included in the composition made it easier to paint.

Tea with Lilies was painted using professional artist grade acrylic paint on a museum quality Ampersand Claybord.  This painting can be slipped into a frame or placed on a small easel for display.

This painting has sold.

I spent the evening going through magazines and looking at pictures for inspiration for the next painting....so far nothing....may be a landscape!

Thanks for stopping by~ see you tomorrow,

The Orchid and the Dragon - SOLD

The Orchid and the Dragon
8" x 10" Acrylic on Gallery Wrapped Canvas
~Sold~

I have just finished "The Orchid and the Dragon"

I bought an Orchid at Lowes one year. When the blooms died, I sat the little pot near the window in my studio. It had just two leaves draped slightly over the pot. I watered it when it was dry and my little clay pot with two leaves kept me company. Slowly, there came two more leaves.....and then this little stalk started winding its way out of the little clay pot. I really don't know how long it took to bloom, but I was so proud when four blossoms came. The flowers lasted for quite some time sitting on the mantle in the living room. I took several reference photos, I was so proud of my little orchid. The blooms have long since died and the little orchid had to be transplanted into a larger clay pot. It is once again getting watered regularly at the window in my studio, waiting patiently for another bloom.

The teacup is from a Dragonware tea service that belonged to my grandmother.

This painting is also available for purchase directly from my gallery using the link above or in my Etsy.com store.

Well, I had better get busy.

Thanks for stopping by!

New Puppies!

New Puppy Art!

White Dog

Available for Purchase at:

Brown Dog

Available for Purchase at:
I recently painted Murphy and Nik for the Portrait Swap on EBSQart.com and I had such a wonderful time painting Murphy (hound-collie mix), I decided to try some more pet pictures in oil this time. These are small oil paintings on 6" x 6" canvas panels you can either frame or put on a small display easel.
These were supposed to be a West Highland Terrier puppy and a Yorkshire Terrier puppy, but the Yorkshire terrier ended up looking like a Cairn Terrier instead....well, guess I will just practice some more. I still have not painted my Stella (black and tan dachshund wiener) or my sweet Sadie (pound puppy mix).
Today, I will be starting a small acrylic painting (8 x 10) on gallery wrapped canvas. This will be of a blue and white creamer with a yellow lemon. You will see it listed on eBay soon!
Thanks for stopping by.
