I'm back!!  Finally back in the studio and playing catch up with the 30 in 30.  This painting is posted as #18.  I have to catch up with painting 14-17 as I missed those.  I will post these paintings as soon as they are completed, but they will not included on Leslie's blog as I missed the deadline.  

I fell Tuesday~ one of those nasty old lady falls that leave a mark.  I hit the wall with my face on the way down and the headache has just now subsided.  I might need to invest in one of those "I have fallen" buttons.  My granddaughter was with me and it was really funny.  I am laying on the floor dazed and she is looking down at me saying "It be alright GaGa - you okay?"  Yes, it was hard not to cuss and cry, but I didn't want to give her an even bigger story to go home and tell her mother....."Mommy, GaGa fell down and cried and said the bad words" --yepper, we couldn't have that~

I love painting ballerinas and should paint more of them. I have a larger version of The Swan almost finished. It is also 16" x 20" and is the same as the previous small versions of The Swan.

I have finished my painting for The Rookie Painter painting challenge blog. I will post the painting tomorrow after I take pictures. It is nice to get back into the swing of things. I am almost finished unpacking boxes after the move to Charlotte and Audrey Grace is almost six months old- healthy and beautiful. Life is good~

I will be finishing up my last two commissioned paintings this weekend. They are two paintings of a lily pond. I will post pictures as soon as they are finished. The buyer is choosing between the two. One of the paintings will be available for purchase. This will end the backlog of commissions.

I will be finishing the large ballerina paintings next. These are both 16" x 20" versions of the original smaller Ballerina painting and The Swan paintings.

After that....who knows, I have so many ideas. I will be doing a few large paintings for my new place, I will post pictures when they are done so you can see the paintings that I keep.

The Mystery Artist Show and Sale in Shelby, North Carolina was so much fun. I love participating in the event and will be there again next year.

I spent the weekend in Chapel Hill, NC visiting with Courtney and wandering around taking pictures. I take my camera everywhere and take reference photos for future paintings. There will be some fun ones coming up soon.

Today, I will be finishing my last commission that should have been done several months ago, then I will be finishing paintings that have been on the easel for a while. Ballerinas, pears, flowers~

On Point III and Field of Poppies III was requested to be included in the silent auction at the Cleveland County Heart Ball in Shelby, North Carolina, February 27, 2010.

The 2010 Cleveland County Heart Ball is one of the region’s premier black-tie events. For the past several years, the Cleveland County Heart Ball has attracted the city’s largest companies and most recognized corporate, healthcare and social leaders. It is the mission of the American Heart Association to build healthier lives, free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke. The association's impact goal is to reduce coronary heart disease, stroke and risk by 25 percent by 2010. This is the second year I have participated in the event. I am planning to continue working with the Heart Association and their Annual Heart Ball in the coming years.

I am so sorry I have disappeared for so long. This has been a very busy couple of weeks. I have been planning the baby shower for Audrey Grace and Miranda. There is a family wedding in November and that shower is the week before Miranda's~ Congratulations Andrea and Jeremy. I am busy planning a new studio ~ bigger and better ~ for more painting, and then there is that pesky "real job" working for the hospital.

I am almost finished with the Ballerina paintings. It has taken longer than I expected, but these are the largest ballerinas I have painted. I will be finished by the weekend.

My online stores are almost empty~~ I have to get busy! I keep hearing Miranda's voice in my head, what she is usually yelling at her dog Sadie "Focus Sadie--Task at hand!"

Just finished The Ballerina II~ this painting is available for purchase in my EBSQart.com gallery and in my Etsy.com store. There are two more ballerina paintings in progress in the studio. There is a ballerina in red- I just picked up a fabulous new red paint from Cheap Joe's in Charlotte, I had to try it out! The other new painting is two little dancers warming up. Hopefully, these will be finished by next week.

There are just a few more days of my vacation, I am trying to make good use of my painting time, but there are so many "incidentals" that need to be attended to before I get back into the routine of the nine to five job-get the oil changed in the car, clean up the yard from the last storm, finish the laundry.......so much to do.

Also, the boat painting is coming right along~ and a new ballerina in the works just for fun!

I have been asked to paint floral still life paintings, it will be nice for a change. I have a new orchid blooming, I am sure it will make it on canvas by the end of June.

American Heart Association Donation

I had contacted the American Heart Association and offered to donate two original paintings of their choice painted especially for The 11th Annual Cleveland County Heart Gala, March 21, 2009. Then I was called away to Texas.

Well, it is last minute, but I was able to complete the paintings they selected to be auctioned for charity at the Gala this Saturday. I will be delivering them to the Cleveland County Country Club Friday.
